(brief – do not tell the entire story) CNBC's article by Annie Nova is a brief exposition on the terror that the Federal Loan Forgiveness program turned out to be for many, many people. The program that was enacted in 2007 was designed to forgive the loans of those who served in the public capacity for ten years and made one hundred and twenty on-time payments toward their loan. in 2017 the first patch of people who thought they qualified applied. The shocker came when only 96 of the 30,000+ people that applied had their loan forgiven. The article went on to share the experience of two people's loans were not forgiven. One story is of an authored professor and the other of a librarian. The professor found out that his payments and time were invalid because of the payment schedule he had been on. It praises the event stating that it was one of the most diverse seasons to ever take place with nearly all the catwalks having a wide array of races and nationalities present; not simply a springingly to keep the crowd happy. However, the writer points out that though the  models were diverse, those in power were not. The large majority of those who finance the show, the editors, the retails, and those who have the power to make decisions were not. No data is given to support this claim but there are a few stories about the few people of color who hold higher up positions in the industry. (brief – do not tell the entire story) The article by the Human Rights Watch shared how individuals who identify as LGBT face discrimination when seeking healthcare. The article told how newly proposed legislature by the Trump Administration would make it more available for healthcare professionals to turn down care to individuals based upon the carers personal beliefs. It is feared that this will cause discrimination to increase. The article also told how many States lack the legal "safety nets" to make sure that care is provided. 2.       How does the story relate to oppression/discrimination? (brief – do not tell the entire story) The article tells the story of Khairuldeen Makhzoomi, a student in  public policy at the University of California at Berkeley. Makhzoomi was speaking in Arabic to his uncle while in line to board his Southwest flight. Once aboard the plane, two police officers boarded and with the help of a Southwest employee, detained him. The employee ask him "Why are you talking in Arabic? You know the environment is very dangerous." He was questioned and by local police officers and federal agents for several hours. He indicates that one agent asked him " You need to be very honest with us with what you said about the martyrs. Tell us everything you know about the martyrs." (brief – do not tell the entire story) The article was the retelling of the results of a poll that was conducted in the United States regarding discrimination that Native Americans experience. It told how the natives report experiencing higher discrimination in an are where there was the majority of people living there were Native Americans. It reported discrimination in the areas of interacting with police, applying for jobs, being paid equally or considered for promotions and trying to vote and participate in politics. The results indicated that 3 times as many discrimination experiences in a Native American majority area in comparison to a non-majority area.
